The possibilities are end-list

I am an absolute list fiend...love the whole process of brainstorming and list-making. I am non-discriminatory with my list making - from top 10 to task lists. Whether it be in my professional, personal or social life - I find that lists are the way to go. So when I decided it was time I started a blog, it was obvious that it be list-based (that and you've probably figured out by now that I am total crap with grammar and punctuation or writing in general.) It was also appealing to commit goals and ideas "on paper" in the hopes that I may start working to make them happen. Enough with the explanation, let's get on to the lists.

But first...A word on task lists
I will say that task lists are my specialty - I make them frequently and zealously. The process is cathartic; by simply recognizing what needs to be done and committing it to paper is almost the same as performing the task. A few items are required for any proper task list and, since this is a blog on lists, I'll enumerate:

  • Title of task list. This is usually something along the lines of
"To Do" or "Tasks to be completed" depending on how formal a mood you are in. This straightforward title is usually followed by an unrealistic expected date of completion.
  • Neatly-drawn little shadowed boxes next to each entry. This allows the task list creator to quickly survey any incomplete (or for the optimists out there: complete) tasks upon initial glance. Despite the presence of these boxes, it is also perfectly acceptable list etiquette to also cross out the entry upon completion to really emphasize how much is being accomplished.
  • Ample room along the edges for additional notes and, most importantly, doodling. While notes and new items may come in handy, it is really doodling that is crucial to any list completion. It is the yin to the yang of any task list.
  • Awesome writing utensil. Although not technically part of the task list itself, it might as well be. With the right pen, your task list can come together as quickly as your thought process - a critical factor in starting your list off right.

Lastly, a listing of possible future lists:

  • Statistics I just made up
  • Technologies/ideas that are revolutionary
  • Song titles I'd use - if I were a songwriter
  • Products I could be a spokesperson for
  • Places I want to visit (US, worldwide)
  • Places to explore - St. Louis
  • Best things to do in...(name a city)
  • TV shows you should be watching
  • Books I should be reading
  • Pet peeves
  • Guilty pleasures
  • A few of my favorite things
  • Talents I wish I had
  • Favorite expressions
  • Favorite movies, books, albums, etc.
  • Best websites
  • Best gameshow hosts
  • Coffee table book ideas
  • Product ideas that I should've thought of first

This blog is a democracy - so feel free to post lists of your own or submit list ideas.
