Where to begin, I originally wanted post this as my "heavy rotation" post...but, I've let that come and go and have a lot more to say now that I have a performance from Karen O. and company under my belt.
First of all...the new album:
It's Blitz is fantastic...awesome...superb...and all other adjectives you can think of. The best Yeah Yeah Yeahs album in my mind. Heads will Roll, Runaway and Dull Life were standouts for me.

Should I skip over Karen O's known performance antics? Probably, though they were still phenomenal and my only quibble is that the crowd went wild any time she stretched out the mic cord...I mean, really? Beyond that, the performance was spot on...if only I didn't have a fellow concert-goer that I didn't want to get into a fight with...here's why:
1) He was 6 foot plus - AND - tried to get in front of me WHILE I was helping his friend look for a lost earring (during a song), apparently no tact.
2) He threw beer on everyone purposely...when confronted by the crowd (led by my man) he denied...then later admitted and apologized that he got "caught up in the moment" - totally understandable in the right venues, but this was not an outdoor, lawn venue.
3) Said d-bag first got my attention by pumping his forearm forward with the pointer and index fingers out like it was a Linkin Park performance...it was not. Turns out it was a Yeah Yeah Yeahs performance - quite different. Oh, and he had a little cocktail straw sticking down from his hair. Perhaps it shouldn't, but it made my blood boil.
4) Last - but not least - he cheered late for well-known songs and sang in a vibrato to songs. As an FYI, I came to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and if I wanted to hear you I would invite you over for a solid Rockband session...but I don't like you, 6 foot plus man.
Hahaha! Drunken 6'+ men are also the bane of my existence at SRO concerts. On the plus side, it is pretty easy to work your way up front if you are a small person.
