Photojourna.list: Backyard wedding reception

I couldn't believe a Facebook message that reminded me of a two year wedding anniversary of a good college friend - where did the time go? Of course, I wanted to look back on the pictures I took of the wedding and backyard reception they had in south-side Chicago, only to find a draft blog post that I never finished. So, here we are, two years later and the pictures remind me of the fun night we had in Chicago - delicious Mexican food, homemade pies and a cozy reception in their backyard. Congrats, Jose and B!

Photojourna.list: Rooftop Wedding

Last month we flew out to L.A. to attend the wedding of our good friends, Sam and Erin. The wedding didn't follow a typical format and, not only was it a blast for us as guests, it befit the bride and groom. The guests arrived rooftop of the Los Angeles Athletic Club to a cocktail hour, followed by a sit-down dinner, then a casual ceremony with dancing capping off the evening's affairs. The centerpieces were handpicked bottles of liquor coupled with books to match the origin of the bottle (the bride has a PhD in literature and the groom has an advanced degree in encouraging a good time). I very carefully culled the photos to show the great time we had, but not showing the super great time we had as we toasted and danced the night away (most of those pictures were blurry anyway.) To Sam and Erin...banzai, banzai, banzai!
