Of course my schedule was laughable. I slated four days for the common area and a few units to be completed. We stayed an extra day and a half and didn't touch an actual apartment unit. And though the common areas aren't completely done - the final finishing touches we hired out - the renovation was a huge success. Go back and review the pictures if you have any doubt.
In case you are looking to renovate an old school building turned apartment and you like what you see, here are the products we used successfully** (or so we think):
Flooring - vinyl plank floor
Upper stairs - black epoxy paint (ordered through Lowes)
Lower stairs - vinyl stair treads
Hall paint - walls in Filoli Carriage House, trim in Guilded Linen
Stairwell paint - walls in Regal Plum
*They took vacation to do this: drive 7 plus hours to Ohio to work all day and sleep on an air mattress for 6 nights. Sans any kind of compensation. That is amazing. We owe them big time.
**No paid sponsorship, just stuff we used and like so far.
It looks SO awesome! I, of course, love love love the purple!

ReplyDeleteCautionnement Wow, cool post. I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real hard work to make a great article... but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though.
